I have the viking 500 and it does just fine. got information technology from an elderly lady that had to go into nursing home. It was well taken intendance of and I assured her I would use information technology and not abuse it. Take had it about two years now and utilise information technology alot. Exercise lots of piecing on it. Works great for piecing and quilting if yous then choose. Has many of the qualities y'all would want in a car. I got this machine and a new Pfaff serger in cabinets for under $400.00. Came with so many extras. the son said take to take information technology all. so I did. New ott lamp too many things to list. Took the machines out of the cabinets and sold them at rummage sale for more than $200.00 dollars. I would recommend the Viking.

good Luck

I have this machine. I have 3 Vikings so yes I love them. This is a great auto, has enough features to make just about anything possible. You lot tin play with needle position to get a perfect scant ane/4 inch sean. I dropped this machine off a sewing table at a grade, yes information technology stopped working, the case was even dented, simply took it to my dealer and $fifty bucks afterwards it is perfect once more (looks strange with a dented case) Light enough to accept to classes. Just make certain information technology has been "loved" as I"m sure if information technology was not taken intendance of information technology might not be good. Mine has had tons and tone of hours on it but always loved. I recently thought of replacing it and Viking has a reasonable toll car that would be great and does take some better features simply I think information technology was $900-$1200. Just couldn't justify that as my abode car is a Viking Designer 1. Yous may take constitute a great reasonable priced car. Important is to meet how many feet it has that you think you will use every bit Viking feet are actually expensive. Allow usa know what you lot exercise

Default Viking 500

I also accept a Viking 500....have had it for more than 15 years. It has been very reliable, never has been serviced, and has a lot of stitches for a car from that menstruum of time. I've looked at the newer Sapphires with the larger throat, but merely tin can't spend the money correct now. The 500 is a little heavy to carry around, but I think that'due south because of what it's made of....not a lot of plastic parts. Bottom line? I recollect that they simply don't brand them similar they used to.

If you can examination out the 500 before yous buy information technology, great. If it's in good working condition, I don't recollect you lot'll regret your buy.
